Oofos OOlala Product review

Have you heard of OOfos? They have been around for 7 years, truly working to focus on recovery versus performance, which is definitely not something that is common in the footwear world, but as runners, we need to baby our feet to ensure that they continue to work hard for us.
I received the OOlala sandal in Orange to try and wear on a regular basis. It is now summer here in Ohio with temperatures up over 90 regularly, which means I am living in sandals. All the time. So the timing was definitely right for me to test them out. In addition, I have fairly high arches. So while I often try and wear shoes that are decent for my feet, as a runner, I really need to protect them, and these sandals are truly in the form of a foot, which feels wonderful. The Founders of OOfos were around at reebok when they were a start up, learning about brand building, etc, allowing them to have previous knowledge on building their product and their business. They were involved in the initial running footwear boom of the 1970s and 1980s, but felt there was a specific need out there for the footwear that is more geared toward recovery. OOfos uses their revolutionary OOfoam that is set up to absorb shock, rather than propel you forward like a traditional athletic shoe, absorbing up to 37% more shock with each footstep. Not only do oofos help your feet, but they also are trying to do good around causes that they believe in! 3% of all sales off of Oofos.com go to Project Pink. Project Pink was founded when a team member at OOfos was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in 2014. All of the funds that are raised are sent to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for cancer research. And if you buy a pair of their sandals in their project pink section, $10 of the purchase price will go to Project Pink. I wore OOfos with a dress to the office. They were definitely not the most professional looking shoes that I have ever worn, but they worked for my feet for that day. I think that is one of the biggest things that I have learned over the years of running and trying to make sure that I can continuously improve is that I need to take care of my feet first. Making my feet feel good is much more important to me.
I also wore them with my sweats to the grocery store, they felt perfect walking around there, and I also wore them throughout Chicago when I was there celebrating my birthday this past weekend. I loved having such comfortable and supportive sandals to walk around the city in. They were perfect overall. Overall, I love these flip flops, and I recommend trying out oofos for their recovery footwear! I am loving my orange pair for summer, and there are a lot of options out there.
