Fun Run Box: A Review

Recently, I was invited to try the Fun Run Box, and I was given the Oktoberfest Box, for a team challenge (#teamdiggity!) during September. And let's be real. I live in the city with the second largest Oktoberfest outside of Germany, so I do enjoy this season quite a bit. The Oktoberfest challenge was a 5 mile run, which definitely is something that can fit right in with marathon training, that I have been doing all summer into fall.
The box arrived in the house with the big sticker (shown above) on it, and so there was no wondering what I was about to get into in this box. It was a pretty fun collection of items and I was rather excited to take part in some of the challenge.

Inside there was a headsweats Trucker (and if you know me, you know that I love a trucker!) with an embroidered logo of the fun run that I was participating in.
This hat has seen several runs over the last few weeks with me, including several 4 am runs/workouts, and even my last long run before the Chicago Marathon (which is this coming Sunday!) It definitely is a great hat for logging miles.
In addition to the hat, the box had a magnet (with the dachshund logo), some beer flavored jelly beans, a short sleeved tech tee, race bib, a small/portable stick style roller, and IPA granola bar (the hubs ate that almost immediately!). Using all of these items, there was various instagram challenges relating to the items, that I participated in fully. I enjoyed engaging with other folks participating in this challenge in both the facebook group for participants as well as instagram hashtags that were provided within the box.

Honestly, this was one of the most fun things I have done. I enjoyed all of the unusual goodies that I might not pick for myself (IPA granola bar? Beer jelly bellies?) and I enjoyed the camaraderie that developed in the facebook group, not only around challenge items but actual questions to get to know each other (running injuries, race plans, etc).  I am considering getting a subscription to Fun Run Box in the future, and if you are interested in getting a box or a subscription yourself in the near future, you can use this link to save 15%! Have you ever done a virtual challenge or fun run like this one?
