An afternoon at the taste

Memorial day weekend always has one thing going on in the city of Cincinnati... The Taste of Cincinnati. It is every Memorial Day weekend downtown on Fifth Street, moving there several years ago from Central Parkway. And there were several years prior to the birth of the little miss that J and I attended, possibly for more than one day. But this year was the first time we attended as a family of three.
IMG_9964We did manage to convince Addie that her stroller was a good idea, thank goodness. Being almost 4, I am assuming our days of that are beginning to dwindle, but having her in it at an event as crowded as the taste was hugely important. I would not want the little to wander off and get lost. Because goodness gracious, that would be terrifying.
IMG_9979We were not planning on eating dinner or anything down there, just checking things out, maybe grabbing a quick snack, a beer, and heading back to our side of town to have dinner. I selected a Great Lakes beer. It was the Holy Moses White Ale (according to my Untappd app, it was one I had never had before which seems hard to believe). Jason went with Braxton, a local brewery in Northern Kentucky. He had one of their IPAs, his favorite style.

It got hot quickly, even though it was only about 75*, there was sun directly on the road, and we began to feel the affects. Addie was tired and hot, and let us know that she was done, so J and I polished off our beers and we headed back to our car. I am glad that we were able to share one of the more fun aspects of our city with our little lady and hope she is willing to give it another go (in her stroller - fingers crossed) next Memorial Day weekend.
Anything special happen where you live for Memorial Day? Did you do anything fun to celebrate?
