Another Day with Beets. Yum.

Last night J and I had plans to meet our friend Bryan at BW3 to watch some of the all-star game.  We honestly ended up watching not too much of it since we went early and ended up discouraged after JV gave up 4 runs in the first inning!  Ok, I was discouraged.  J potentially did not care. :)

This morning's run according to our runcoach plan was 2 miles at maintenance pace.  According to the recent race that Karen logged to get training paces (which is very similar to my recent paces), maintenance pace is 9:37/mile.  I didn't want to push SUPER hard, but I do want to continue to get faster, so I figured I could go a little quicker than that.  I did 2 miles in 9:20 and 9:13.  18:33 for the complete workout and felt pretty good after that.

Since my workout was less than 20 minutes, I decided to do a little bit of strength and core work today. 
It was a pretty good workout.  Worked the back and shoulders primarily, but in turn worked everything else upper.  Plus back and shoulders are the main things that I need to work on development wise.

After my workout I prepped my breakfast in the vitamix.  My favorite.
Yum yum.

Today's ingredients:
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 scoops vanilla whey
1/2 cup sliced cucumbers
2 cups spinach
1/4 beet
5 strawberries
1/4 cup Trader Joe's Very Cherry Berry Blend

I slurped it down!
