My Bad Habits Catch Up
Well, I think that all of the eating out over the last week has finally caught up with me. I woke up around 3 am feeling absolutely terrible. Horrible. Awful. My stomach was in severe pain, and I was feeling super nauseous. I did not get sick. But I honestly really wanted to get sick because I thought it might help me to feel better if I was sick.
I did not go for a run this morning, which that is very telling of how I felt. I mean, I get to the gym every single day even when I feel bad in general. So since I didn't get my run in, I definitely was feeling bad. I still do not feel great.
I wound up forcing myself through 4 miles around 9 am. I am glad that I did them, and glad that they are done, and all things considered, I felt pretty good while I was out running. I am really glad that I knocked out the mileage that I was supposed to today. Tomorrow I have 5 on the schedule, which is the longest of the "short runs" that we do during the week, so I am glad to be doing it! 5 miles should feel like cake after my 13 over the weekend, right? Haha, that is my hope. The 4 did not feel bad at all today, but I have been spoiled by having someone else to run with me on all runs 6 miles or longer, so I will have to figure it out. I also have been running without music, even on long outside runs. So I think that makes a little bit of a difference as well.
Today was a 5 mile morning. When my alarm went off, I definitely was not feeling it, but because I have lunch plans and dinner plans, I was not sure when else it would fit. So dressed and out for the run!
So while that is not even close to the fastest run I have had, just under 10 min/miles, I am still pleased with it, considering how horrible I felt yesterday. I still think that is a darn good run, and its downhill for the week (except for, of course the long run on Saturday). I think I will feel pretty good on Saturday when we go to do our 10.

I covered my 5 miles this morning in my brand new kicks. There they are, above, and I liked them pretty well. The weird part is that I am already wearing a hole through the left shoe on top. You know, where my toe sticks out funny. I only have 7 miles on them, and I still have already managed to poke right through. How ridiculous is that?
I also learned my lesson this morning about reflector gear. I do not own any. My tights that I wore have a small stripe down the side that is reflective. In addition, as you can see from the above picture, my shoes are a little bit reflective. Plus I am white as a ghost, so maybe I can claim skin reflectors? Haha, anyway. I run before 5 am when I run outside like I did today. No matter what time of year it is, it is dark then, and I am definitely not as concerned about my safety as I should be because I wear my black tights and purple pullover without any light gear. And today I was smoked in a shoulder with a newspaper. A car was driving down the main road and I was on the sidewalk and he (or she?) was tossing papers onto driveways and BAM right in the shoulder. Granted, I am not sure if it was because I wasn't seen, or bad aim, or what, but either way, I do need to be more safe in the dark.
So, for a quick summary. I was sick, I have covered 9 miles in 2 days, I poked a hole in my brand new shoes, I need to wear reflector gear. AND MY KITCHEN IS NOT DONE YET! Gah!
