Mexican food + Fitness = ???

Wow.  First of all, a guy at work who has always had SUPER long hair just walked in with all of it chopped off.  He looks good!  I figured that needed my immediate attention in this entry because I just saw him for the first time.  I saw a pic of him and with his last bit of long hair on facebook, and then pictures of the little ponytails (he is donating it), but now that I have seen him, WOW!  That's awesome.  His hair was beautiful and it will make some little girl with cancer or something VERY happy, I believe. 

Last night after all of my cooking, I went out to one of the Catholic Schools here in Cincinnati to see my friend Carol.  Her daughter is in 8th grade and had a volleyball game, so I went to the game and got to see Carol too!  It made me kind of miss playing competitive volleyball.  I mean, I have played on a co-ed team for the last 5 years, but it just was not the same.  These girls had their switching and their transitions DOWN, something that the ladies on my team simply could NOT teach the gentleman.  Plus, they were playing a 6-2, which is what Leah and I have always wanted to play, and they definitely could not figure out coverage in that one!

Emma's team did not win the game, but they did play pretty well, and the team that they were playing clearly was a powerhouse.  Those things just cannot be helped.

I also got to meet a friend of Carol's who comments on her facebook a lot who is ALSO training for the Pig and runs the Bourbon Chase every year!  Since I am going to be doing that this year as well, it was fun to meet her and talk to her and get her perspective on both of those races.  Sounds like both are going to be a lot of fun!

After the game, we hit up a Mexican restaurant that was nearby.  Emma's entire team and their families were there, but Carol and I got a table just for us in the corner, so we could spend some time catching up.  It was much needed as she has been struggling recently, feeling down and stuff, and I have been trying very hard to be supportive of her as she has needed it.  So we got to chat about my fitness aspirations because she is now at her goal weight, and she said that a lot of it is because of me and my encouragement.  I am flattered that she thinks that, and very happy about it for sure! 

We did not get too far into making the decision of what I might need to do next in order to move towards having that in my life.  I really don't know how to make it work.  J is very weird about me and fitness, I just don't think he gets it.  I don't know what the deal is, but I am just dealing with it right now and trying to live my life in a way that makes us both happy.

After Mexican last night, I felt like cardio was definitely in order.  I did 45 minutes on the elliptical at 5 am, and then made plans to go back to the gym at lunchtime (I will probably be leaving here in 20 minutes or so) to lift.  I am tired of NOT training legs, so today I am going to.  I only have 3 miles on the schedule for tomorrow, so I am going to get on the leg training bandwagon again.  I miss it!
